La gomera carp fishing. As a Spaniard, so so so proud with the Canary Islands, every kind of landscapes along the seven islands. Saumega. La gamerama. La Gomera a.k.a. "The Whistlers" is a fun Romanian neo-noir borrowing suspense tropes from James Cain, Robert Siodmak and Jules Dassin. The premise is a cop (no unreliable voice overs here) who had to learn the idiom of the whistling language for communicating with people living in interstitial spaces inside and outside of the law. Offbeat, at times hilarious in a deadpan way and rife with truly beautiful mise en scène, the film is a deconstructed tribute to this specific and particular film genre but operates outside of it. All the characters are vividly drawn, the supporting ones carry out the one-dimensionality of their roles with a certain lived-in freshness. The use of music was also very tasteful and deliberately operatic as counterpoint to the life-and-death situations, quirkily told. Corneliu Porumboiu seems to be having fun directing this story. it shows and I for one was swept by the story and storytelling.

I want go. One day. 😍. I am going to go straight and tell you: I am sorry, but do not go to this movie. br> It is the biggest waste of money I've ever made and besides seing Catrinel Marlon naked there is nothing to see. The main character has no emotions and all the movie seems like it was written with the left hand (obviosly the writer is right handed.
The movie also has gross scenes and the whistling sound is extremely annoying.
I rate 2/10 just because of the beauty of Catrinel.

First Hit: I was, and even a day later, confused by this story and film.
We're really introduced to Cristi (Vlad Ivanov) and Gilda (Catrinel Marlon) when Gilda walks up to Cristi and asks to speak with him in his apartment. Cristi whispers into her ear that he apartment is bugged, so she kisses him and tells him she'll play the part of a hooker, and they can whisper her request, which is to help her by getting a criminal, Zsolt, out of prison.
In an early scene, Cristi is on a ferry heading to an island where the ancient people use to communicate by whistling. Cristi is part of a plot working with other criminals to free Zsolt and to do this he has to learn the whistling language.
The language breaks vowels and consonants into seven whistling sounds. This lesson in this language was the most exciting part of the film. I was fascinated with Cristi learning how to whistle and wanted to practice, along with him, right in the theater.
As the film develops, some parts led me to believe that the story in the movie was pre-planned, and I missed something as the film progressed. At other times, I felt as though Cristi and Gilda were planning the ending along the way because they'd fallen for each other.
As an undercover detective, Cristi works for an unnamed woman place by Rodica Lazar, who is trying to play both ends of this story.
The result is a film that has the appearance of a storyline running at two different levels, but in the end, the person sitting next to me asked if he missed something about how the ending worked out, I said "I don't know, and I still don't.
Ivanov was quietly compelling as the detective who was also on the take. Marlon was excellent as the woman who seemed totally in control of story behind the plot. Lazar was strong as the head of the investigation and also susceptible to corruption. Corneliu Porumboiu wrote and directed this quizzical story that left me hanging.
Overall: I either missed a critical section of this Romanian film or the story was attempting to be too elusive.

Please anyone who has not seen this film yet do your self a favor and ignore the comments of the people who hate BraveHeart and see it.
The claim made from the detractors of this film are not only ignorant but quite hypocritical. So in defense of this great film here is my response to those who hate this film.
The film from a historical aspect is not 100% perfect, but it is still very accurate without becoming a preachy documentary. The film itself was never meant to be a documentary, most of you who consider yourselves educated know that it was originally a book, written on what we know to be fact about William Wallace and the rest written from the authors heart. And as for following the book it in many cases follows it to the letter( with the exception of Wallace Travelling to France and Itally. Still without being a documentary, it follows the facts we know about Wallace's life closely, though admittedly not fully. Yes, there was a bridge at Sterling, it was not put in the film due to low production cost, and yes Long Shanks died some time after the film depicted, beyond this though it is accurate to what we know. Since in reality, we know little of Wallaces life, the author put what he felt moved to write, in the story. Yes we will never know for sure if Wallace and Princess Isabell ever met and so on. This part of the film is only speculation. Other the the historical, I find it funny that some people would complain about the violence in this film and yet find movies like the mindless gore-fest by Tarrentino fine ( no this is not ever Braveheart hater, but a lot of them are that hypocritical.
Now that I am done defending this film all I can say is that it reach down to the core of every human emotion. As another reviewer said before me. this film will make you cheer, love, laugh, cry; but more importantly it will make you think and measure what you have done with your life. Every award it won it more than deserved and it deserved more. The score is one of the most moving and beautiful I have heard, the Mis-en-scene gritty realistic and unapologetic, and every actor and actress creates such a moving character, you can not help but be moved. This film is a once in a century it.

Has to be one of the best movie lines I have ever heard.

Phone: 614-752-1200 Fax: 614-752-0600 Overview Executive Clemency is an act of mercy or leniency from certain consequences of a criminal conviction, and is exercised by the Governor after receipt of a recommendation from the Parole Board. Clemency can be in the form of a pardon, commutation, or reprieve. Pardon: A pardon is the remission of a penalty. It is an act of grace or forgiveness that relieves the person pardoned from some or all of the ramifications of lawful punishment. A pardon may be conditional or rdons do not erase or seal a conviction; a pardon forgives guilt. Commutation: Commutation is the reduction of a penalty to one less severe. A commutation may be conditional or unconditional. Reprieve: A reprieve is the temporary postponement of the execution of a sentence. Ohio Revised Code (ORC) Section 2967. 07 requires that all applications for clemency be made in writing to the Adult Parole Authority. The Governor may also direct the Parole Board to investigate and examine any case for the propriety of clemency. The Parole Board’s role in the clemency process includes both non-death penalty and death penalty cases.  In non-death penalty cases, the Parole Board reviews all written applications, and decides whether to further consider the merits of an application at a hearing, or submit an unfavorable recommendation to the Governor without further consideration.  Hearings are generally conducted when the application appears to have merit.  The hearing allows for the opportunity for the Parole Board to meet with the applicant and to provide statutory notice to interested parties, who may also choose to attend the hearing. Upon completion of its examination, the Parole Board provides a report to the Governor which includes a summary of the facts in the case, a recommendation for or against the granting of clemency, and the reasoning behind the recommendation (see policy  105-PBD-05, Clemency Procedures: Non-Death Penalty Cases. Application Process Only the person seeking clemency or his/her legal representative can apply for clemency. This article was put together through the collaborative work of Noor Nahas @NoorNahas1, Arslon Xudosi @Arslon_Xudosi, and Jett Goldsmith @JettGoldsmith On November 3rd, 2019, the Free Burma Rangers (FBR) announced that one of their volunteers, longtime cameraman and medic Zau Seng, had been killed in a mortar strike allegedly carried out by the Syria National Army (SNA) — a Turkish-backed force composed of multiple Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Syrian opposition groups currently involved in operations against the YPG and Assad regime forces to create a buffer zone along the Turkish border. While Zau Seng’s death was initially reported by some on social media to have been a targeted drone strike, this claim was later disputed, with some members of the FBR asserting that the attack may have been a mortar shelling by Turkish forces. Zau Seng was buried on November 7th, his body received in a special burial by the SDF during a ceremony for SDF fighters killed in recent fighting against the SNA and Turkish Armed Forces. The ceremony was attended by FBR founder Dave Eubank, along with Mazloum Abdi, the head of the SDF. Since Seng was killed on the front lines and was commemorated in a ceremony honoring the deaths of martyrs in combat, the events surrounding his killing have been contentious, with some accusing the FBR of being mercenaries or commanding SDF forces, while others maintain that the group exists solely to provide humanitarian and medical support in Syria. Although these contrasting views of the Free Burma Rangers paint a muddled picture of the group’s exact aims, there exists a substantial body of open-source and social media-sourced information by which we can establish a clearer timeline of the group’s operations in Syria, as well as their ultimate objectives and goals. According to the Free Burma Rangers website, they are “a multi-ethnic humanitarian service movement working to bring help, hope and love to people in the conflict zones of Burma, Iraq, and Sudan”. The group, which has been active since 1997, made its name providing aid and training to locals in Burma, where long-running internal ethnic conflicts have had a significant impact on locals. FBR founder David Eubank baptizes a ranger during a training camp in Burma. ( link) The FBR’s website is filled with references to Christianity, faith, and its applications. Throughout some of their marketing material, references to the performance of baptisms and references to finding God are common. While the exact number of people affected by FBR religious services has not been tracked, at least one FBR member who I spoke to regarding the story noted that Eubank had performed multiple baptisms in Syria. The group’s social media channels have also posted about baptizing people in Iraq. But in an official statement, the FBR disputed that they had performed any baptisms in Syria to date, noting that the group has only performed baptisms in Iraq and Burma thus far. Though the group received favorable coverage for their work in Burma, their serious return to the spotlight started when they became a go-to source for media outlets looking to get on-the-ground views in Mosul, an area where they provided aid and were active in rescuing civilians during operations against the Islamic State. Dave Eubank, his wife, Karen, and their children Sahale, Suuzanne and Peter, in front of their armored ambulance in western Mosul, Iraq in June. FBR would later shift operations in the Middle East to Syria, where Eubank would similarly continue rescue and aid operations, alongside other FBR volunteers in addition to his young children, who he brought with him during operations against IS in Baghouz. Their role in Syria has recently been put into question, with some claiming that the FBR is not an aid organization, but a part of the YPG or SDF, assisting them in operations and taking part in combat with the SDF. In an exclusive interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), Eubank said the FBR had been working in northeastern Syria for at least the past three weeks, since the onset of Turkish military operations in the area. “We had to hide our vehicles because of Turkish drone strikes, ” said a statement credited to Eubank and published in CBN, which noted that the ambulance carrying Zau Seng was specifically marked as a medical vehicle. However, whereas some vehicles used by the FBR have explicit markings designating them as ambulances or medical vehicles, others don’t — and pictures obtained from multiple sources, including footage shared directly by Eubank himself, appear to show that the vehicle Zau Seng was riding in when he was killed was unmarked and covered in dirt so as to obscure its position on the front line. As showcased in recent footage for the burial procession of Zau Seng, the FBR appears to maintain a fleet of ambulances and personnel carriers, mostly comprised of Toyota Land Cruiser trucks. Some of these vehicles are visibly marked with signage, in English and in Arabic, denoting them as ambulances. But others lack clearly distinguishable markings, and some appear designed specifically for combat, sporting portholes for the occupants to shoot from. In a statement provided to us by Hosannah Valentine, a longtime Free Burma Rangers member and apparent spokesperson for the group, the FBR disputed that their role in Syria exists in a combat capacity, noting the group is “partnered with the Kurdish Red Crescent NGO in Syria to provide impartial humanitarian relief to anyone in need. ” Targeting of Medical Workers Under the Geneva conventions, and many other similar statements and agreements as part of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), the targeting of medical workers is strictly prohibited. Medical workers, whether combat medics providing care for injured fighters or aid organizations like the Red Cross, are protected from attacks while carrying out their work. “Medical personnel exclusively engaged in the search for, or the collection, transport or treatment of the wounded or sick, or in the prevention of disease, staff exclusively engaged in the administration of medical units and establishments, as well as chaplains attached to the armed forces, shall be respected and protected in all circumstances. ” Geneva Convention 1, Article 24 Countries found to be knowingly targeting aid workers would violate these principles and be guilty of war crimes. To make it possible for identification, aid organizations like the Red Cross make use of clearly marked vehicles that can be identified by combatants as medical personnel. In some cases, governments and parties to the conflict may exploit the visible markings of medical and humanitarian vehicles to openly target those forces — such as the Assad regime and its backers, which have institutionalized a policy of targeting medical workers as a basic denial-of-infrastructure strategy, including carrying out double-tap strikes on rescue workers and intentionally bombing hospital coordinates provided through deconfliction channels. Similarly, under IHL, medics may carry arms and defend themselves and those under their care with force if attacked. These protections are lost if medics use their arms offensively rather than defensively. The FBR appear to be privy to this fact, as their spokesperson noted that while some of their volunteers carry arms and actively engage in combat, “at no time in Iraq, Burma, or Syria have we taken offensive action. ” Due to the controversy surrounding the death of Zau Seng, we seek to explore further the role of the FBR in conflict in northeastern Syria, including claims that the group engages solely defensively in contrast with allegations that they have participated in offensive military operations. Are the Free Burma Rangers taking part in military operations alongside the SDF? An apparent FBR volunteer positioned next to a member of the SDF, firing an AK pattern gun. ( source) A critical piece of documentation in determining whether the FBR have actively engaged in offensive combat operations in northern Syria is included in a video titled “Zau Seng’s Last Video: Rescuing the Wounded in Northeastern Syria on Nov. 2nd”. In the footage, FBR founder Dave Eubank is seen coordinating the rescue of an injured SDF fighter. As the camera pans across, we see an unidentified man firing a rifle while positioned next to an SDF fighter. The man, who appears to be affiliated with the FBR, is later seen taking cover. The apparent FBR volunteer, wearing blue latex gloves and behind cover. ( source) As Eubank and Zau Seng calls for medics, the clip is cut and skips to what seems to be previous unidentified man entering the car and closing the door. Apparent FBR volunteer closing the door to the camouflaged ambulance. A gun port is open on the side window. ( source) Between this scene and the next, their position is hit by something large. Zau Seng calls it out, orders people to fire at the tank, and says they need to move out of the area. The FBR volunteer in blue gloves aiming his rifle as he moves forward next to the ambulance. ( source) Following this clip, we see the same volunteer moving between ambulances as they unload injured SDF fighters taken from the front lines. Although somewhat unfocused, we do get a picture of his face, and we also get a clear shot of the gear he is wearing. Photo of an FBR volunteer carrying Zau Seng into an FBR camouflaged ambulance. ( source) His clothing matches that found on a volunteer in a photo previously seen in the video shared by the FBR titled “Remembering Kachin Ranger Zau Seng Who Was Killed By Turkish-Supported Free Syrian Army Attack”, but this analysis doesn’t reveal more detailed imagery of the person. The FBR volunteer helping Zau Seng out of an FBR ambulance after it was hit. ( source) Someone who appears to be the same volunteer can also be seen in a Firat News Agency video, but the quality is too low to make out his specific identity. In order to identify the man in the video and confirm whether he was a foreign fighter, a medic with the FBR, or a member of the YPG, we began by mapping out the FBR’s online networks via SOCMINT sources. By looking at conversations, friends lists, and different interactions via publicly available social media pages, then cross-referencing various visual and contextual elements within these sources, we were able to determine that the man seen firing in the video is Jason Torlano, a volunteer medic with the FBR. Torlano orders Joseph, a Burmese medic with the FBR, to begin providing cover fire. ( source) Pictures on his Instagram fit the clothing of the man seen in the video, and Torlano himself uploaded video to his Instagram of the rescue where Joseph, one of FBR’s Burmese medics, is directed by Torlano to provide cover fire for fighters retreating to the ambulance. The cameraman shooting the video appears to tell the fighters “Biji Serok Apo”, roughly translating as Long Live Apo, a common phrase expressed through out Kurdish nationalist groups praising Abdullah Ocalan, founder of the PKK. The Ambulance drives away under heavy fire. Jason Torlano with a military uniform. The outfit matches the colours of the outfit seen in the video, also the hair looks exactly the same. ( Source) In another picture posted in 2018, Torlano is seen wearing what appears to be the same cap as he wore on the day of Zau Seng’s death, the same one which is seen in recent footage of operations in northeastern Syria including “Zau Seng’s Last Video”. The cap of Jason, reading ‘’Free Ranger Kurd’’. ( Source) Jason Torlano left Syria on either the 11th or 12th of November, 2019, according to a post on his Instagram account. A day later he uploaded a picture, likely from his time in Syria, where he thanked SAA soldiers for allowing them to operate in the region without arresting them. Although it’s difficult to tell who began the attack due to the low quality of footage and highly edited nature of clips released by the FBR, it does clearly show FBR members actively firing weapons on the front line and while engaged in combat with Turkish or Turkish-backed forces. Whether this engagement occurred offensively or defensively can’t clearly be determined from the available video footage shared on open-source FBR media channels. However, careful analysis of FBR interactions with YPG forces provides additional useful information to this effect. A group photo uploaded by a member of FBR to Instagram, SDF and YPG flags can be seen on top of the FBR banner. The Humvee pictured is one of multiple Humvee ambulances used by the FBR, which originally acquired them in Iraq and used them previously for its operations in Mosul. ( source) In photos uploaded to social media, various FBR members can be seen carrying AK pattern rifles while simultaneously sporting SDF and YPG patches. And in a statement provided to us by apparent FBR spokesperson Hosannah Valentine, the group confirmed the presence of some coordinated logistics between the FBR and YPG, saying that the FBR has previously been “called up” by YPG forces to assist in the evacuation of wounded YPG personnel in front line positions under attack by TFSA forces. Joseph, a Burmese FBR medic, treating an injured soldier. ( source) FBR medics have also been seen holding rifles and carrying multiple magazines. One of the FBR medics can be seen in multiple images shared by the FBR carrying at least four magazines. This is likely Jason Torlano. Although again not directly confirming their connection with military operations by the SDF, it seems that medics and members of the FBR are well-armed to an extent discordant from most humanitarian personnel operating in conflict zones — particularly the Syrian Civil Defense, which maintains a consistent policy of training and equipping unarmed local personnel for rescue operations in areas under direct bombardment. Given the military experience brought by many members and volunteers of the FBR, the extent to which the group participates in combat operations deserves further scrutiny. In a statement provided to us, the Free Burma Rangers initially disputed claims that their volunteers were seen holding guns and wearing YPG insignias and patches on their uniforms. But after being shown visual evidence of this, its spokesperson revised her statement to note that “FBR members have worn YPG patches in Syria, ” while claiming that a directive had been issued which prohibited teams in Syria from wearing YPG patches. “All of these we consider our friends, ” said FBR spokesperson Hosannah Valentine, “but we’re not part of their organizations. ” Zau Seng cleans his rifle, which is fitted with a red dot scope, next to Sahale Eubank — David’s daughter. ( Source) With no official number of volunteers reported by the organization, the FBR’s size and presence can’t be exhaustively determined. From social media posts shared by members of the group, we’ve been able to determine that the Free Burma Rangers generally fluctuate between 5–15 volunteers, including members of Eubank’s family. Miles Vining a volunteer with FBR on a frontline position. Vining is also known as Harry Bedford Exeter, and as Silah Report, a popular social media channel which reports on weapons. ( source) Despite a history of training large numbers of rangers and locals in Burma, their activities in Burma and Iraq have primarily consisted of small food handouts to locals, the performance of baptisms, and the rendering of medical aid. The latter activity is also seen prominently as part of FBR operations in northeastern Syria, where the group has rendered medical aid to SDF fighters on the front lines, and where they’ve also filmed themselves fighting. FBR volunteers hand out aid to local IDPs. ( source) The FBR’s work in Burma has also been questioned in the past, where their efforts — as is often the case among international humanitarian groups operating locally on the ground in sensitive areas — are sometimes seen as moving between activism and humanitarianism. The group has, for example, trained soldiers in ethnic resistance armies in land mine removal and battlefield communications, two fields which in some applications may be seen as humanitarian, but which in others may be considered logistically or operationally supportive of combat efforts. Interview with David Eubank, describing him as an aid worker. ( source) Despite this contentious and muddled history, the existence of the FBR and their actions across Syria consistently blur the line of humanitarian aid and targeted activism. While media and interviews with the FBR have framed the group as a humanitarian organization, this is an oversimplification of the actions and efforts being undertaken by the FBR on the front lines in northeastern Syria, much of which appears to actively endanger the safety of volunteers as well as that of Eubank’s family. With a historical focus on baptizing local populations and providing battlefield training for armed organizations, and given the military history of many of its volunteers — specifically in the context of their apparent participation in combat alongside YPG forces in northeastern Syria — the existence of the Free Burma Rangers blurs the line between humanitarianism and ideological activism.

Review: Lo sceicco bianco is a movie starring Alberto Sordi, Giulietta Masina, and Brunella Bovo. During a day in their honeymoon, a couple is separated by the city's lust and the desires it produces; Michelangelo Antonioni, Federico Fellini; star: Giulietta Masina; Federico Fellini; Comedy; Ratings: 7,9 of 10 star.

Watch den hvide sheikah. Perché c'è sempre, nelle musiche che Nino Rota scrive per Fellini, un senso di struggente malinconia, di nostalgia profonda di qualcosa che non c'è piu. Sei stato magnifico Alberto. Watch Den hvide sheila. Aguante City Tour. jajajaja.

Wonderful! One of the best performances of Nino Rota music I've ever heard. Amor lusingator ancor ancor Amor trionfator ognor ognor Amor vendicator Amor consolator Amor, dolor, languor calor calor Amor insidiator ancor ancor Amor provocator qualor qualor Amor esaltator Amor tormentator Sceicco bianco a te darò il mio cuor. Amor soggiogator ancor ancor Amor strapazzator ognor ognor Amor ammagliator Amor raggirator Amor, fervor, bollor calor calor Amor violentator ancor ancor Amor umiliator qualor qualor Amor supplicator Amor ricattator Sceicco bianco tu mi hai preso il cuor Amor supplicator Amor lusingator Sceicco bianco tu mi hai preso il cuor.

Federico Fellini, one of the most gifted and visually wild Italian directors of the 20th century, blossomed out until with his masterpiece 8 1/2 (which, by the time he got to, as Martin Scorsese once said, he was on Mars. With his first solo effort, parting ways with Rossellini but not entirely from neo-realism, he went back to one of his passions- comic-book writing. Los Sciecco Bianco (The White Shiek) is likely one of Fellini's funniest works, and it shows him gearing up his visual sense of space, and with his trademark characters (set, which is his usual, in Rome.
The story is quite simple and, for the novice to Fellini's daring feats of the 60's, entertaining and accessible. A man with a level of pride in his family's connections in bureaucracy and religion in Rome (played by Leopoldo Triste, with perfect usage of wide eyes) is married to a young woman, Wanda (Brunella Bovo. She loves him, but finds him perhaps a little un-easy to be around for a day. So, she sneaks off for what she thinks is just a momentary call for fandom- she's a big fan of 'the white sheik' the star of the kinds of comics being printed in Italy (mostly for women, as said on the DVD, they were still photos as opposed to drawings, with pulp/love stories. But, in a Fellinian twist, Wanda gets whisked away by the shooting crew of the series, and Ivan (Triste) is stuck in one of those text-book comic situations, where everything is "under control. The results are rather funny, if also intriguing.
The little characters are also what makes the film fun, aside from our lead couple, and with this film we get the white sheik himself, Fernando Rivoli (Alberto Sordi, who finds that line between a stealthily romantic type and hopelessly dim) and the crew, filled with their little comments. Plus, there is a late-night visit to Ivan in a despairing state, from Cabiria (later to appear in one of Masina/Fellini's best combinations, Nights of Cabiria) involving a flame shooter. And as the film unravels, it becomes key to the fun- we know things will turn out right somehow, but how is what makes the film work (unlike Fellini, some might think, as many of his other films are the opposite, with flights of fantastical comedy in hopeless tragedies. It's not a great film, there are some inconsistencies, and at a couple of points the pace loses its strength. But if this was a place to evolve from for the director, it's not a bad place in the slightest. That there are wonderful turns for Trieste, Bovo, Marchio, and legendary composer Nina Rota, is another reason to watch it.

Watch Den hvide sheikh. Like Sergio Leone without Ennio Morricone. Watch den hvide sheiki. Molto bravi! qualcuno mi sa indicare il titolo del secondo pezzo. Very evocative.I love Italy, but where is the contemporry Fellini. Grande abilita' recitativa di Sordi. Molto bravi anche gli altri. Alberto ti voglio un bene dell'anima 🖐️♥️♥️🌷. Bravo c'etait super. Watch den hvide sheike. Watched this many times over the yrs but now with ability of sub-titles a real joy.

Watch Den hvide sheik. 30 minutes in i wanted it to last for hours. alas i knew it was 100 mins long. It truly is a treasure to debate in your mind if the film you've just seen is in your top 10. Art can fool you. Cinema can't, it just is. For an amazing long watch(7hrs)SATANTANGO. Awesome. Big tits. Watch den hvide sheikh. One of the finest endings in cinema history. Her enduring love for life, no matter how hard, refuses to falter. Magnifico ed insuperato. Watch den hvide sheikha. Nino Rota,il mago del cromatismo. 20:55 fa ridere il tipo che dice Vuoi birra e salsiccia? e l'autista No io no...

WHO has produced this wonderful concert and released in on YouTube

For those who enjoy Rota's work for Fellini: check the complete soundtrack for Casanova! I think it's one of his best, because in a lot of Fellini's movies the theme of melancholy is quite mixed with that circus like feeling Fellini linked with the Italian provincial life of the 20th century, whereas in Casanova it becomes a thing of all history and all humanity and it's so beautiful and poignant. Listen to the Canto della buranella and you'll understand.

BELLISSIMA MUSICA, INDIMNTICABILE, CHE TI RIMANE NEL CUORE, GRAZIE, CIAO. Immortale. Watch Den hvide shika. The film is titled ‘The White Sheik and is in black and white; but the man who plays the Sheik is clearly not white, hes olive-skinned; It is the young lady who is white, not the Sheik. I wonder if Fellini thought about this when making this film.

Watch Den hvide shikamaru. Unforgetable and beloved FOREVER. Federico Fellini and Nino Rota. Watch Den hvide seiko. Bay without Linkin Park ahahahahah XD. Brilliant. I admire Nino Rota so much. His music is such an integral part of Fellini's films. National treasure. Fellini era anche un bravo disegnatore. Che grande.

Synopsis In 1280, King Edward "Longshanks" invades and conquers Scotland following the death of Alexander III of Scotland, who left no heir to the throne. Young William Wallace witnesses Longshanks' treachery, survives the deaths of his father and brother, and is taken abroad on a pilgrimage throughout Europe by his paternal Uncle Argyle, where he is educated. Years later, Longshanks grants his noblemen land and privileges in Scotland, including Prima Nocte. Meanwhile, a grown Wallace returns to Scotland and falls in love with his childhood friend Murron MacClannough, and the two marry in secret. Wallace rescues Murron from being raped by English soldiers, but as she fights off their second attempt, Murron is captured and publicly executed. In retribution, Wallace leads his clan to slaughter the English garrison in his hometown and send the occupying garrison at Lanark back to England. Longshanks orders his son Prince Edward to stop Wallace by any means necessary. Wallace rebels against the English, and as his legend spreads, hundreds of Scots from the surrounding clans join him. Wallace leads his army to victory at the Battle of Stirling Bridge and then destroys the city of York, killing Longshanks' nephew and sending his severed head to the king. Wallace seeks the assistance of Robert the Bruce, the son of nobleman Robert the Elder and a contender for the Scottish crown. Robert is dominated by his father, who wishes to secure the throne for his son by submitting to the English. Worried by the threat of the rebellion, Longshanks sends his son's wife Isabella of France to try to negotiate with Wallace as a distraction for the landing of another invasion force in Scotland. After meeting him in person, Isabella becomes enamored of Wallace. Warned of the coming invasion by Isabella, Wallace implores the Scottish nobility to take immediate action to counter the threat and take back the country. Leading the English army himself, Longshanks confronts the Scots at Falkirk where noblemen Lochlan and Mornay, having been bribed by Longshanks, betray Wallace, causing the Scots to lose the battle. As Wallace charges toward the departing Longshanks on horseback, he is intercepted by one of the king's lancers, who turns out to be Robert the Bruce, but filled with remorse, Bruce gets Wallace to safety before the English can capture him. Wallace kills Lochlan and Mornay for their betrayal, and wages a guerrilla war against the English for the next seven years, assisted by Isabella, with whom he eventually has an affair. Robert sets up a meeting with Wallace in Edinburgh, but Robert's father has conspired with other nobles to capture and hand over Wallace to the English. Learning of his treachery, Robert disowns his father. Isabella exacts revenge on the now terminally ill Longshanks by telling him that his bloodline will be destroyed upon his death as she is now pregnant with Wallace's child. In London, Wallace is brought before an English magistrate, tried for high treason, and condemned to public torture and beheading. Even whilst being hanged, drawn and quartered, Wallace refuses to submit to the king. As cries for mercy come from the watching crowd deeply moved by the Scotsman's valor, the magistrate offers him one final chance, asking him only to utter the word, Mercy" and be granted a quick death. Wallace instead shouts, Freedom. and the judge orders his death. Moments before being decapitated, Wallace sees a vision of Murron in the crowd, smiling at him. In 1314, Robert, now Scotland's king, leads a Scottish army before a ceremonial line of English troops on the fields of Bannockburn, where he is to formally accept English rule. As he begins to ride toward the English, he stops and invokes Wallace's memory, imploring his men to fight with him as they did with Wallace. Robert then leads his army into battle against the stunned English, winning the Scots their freedom.

The story begins with young Wallace, whose father and brother have been killed fighting the English, being taken into the custody of his uncle, a nationalist and pre-Renaissance renaissance man. He returns twenty years later, a man educated both in the classics and in the art of war. There he finds his childhood sweetheart Murron (Catherine McCormack) and the two quickly fall in love. There are murmurs of revolt against the English throughout the village, but Wallace remains aloof, wishing simply to tend to his crops and live in peace. However, when his love is killed by English soldiers the day after their secret marriage (held secretly so as to prevent the local English lord from exercising the repulsive right of prima noctae, the privilege of sleeping with the bride on the first night of the marriage) he springs into action and single-handedly slays an entire platoon of foot soldiers. The other villagers join him in destroying the English garrison, and thus begins the revolt against the English in what will eventually become full-fledged war. Wallace eventually leads his fellow Scots in a series of bloody battles that prove a serious threat to English domination and, along the way, has a hushed affair with the Princess of Wales (the breathtaking Sophie Marceau) before his imminent demise. For his efforts, Gibson won the honor of Best Director from the Academy; the movie also took home statuettes for Best Picture, Cinematography, Makeup, and Sound Effects. The film is fictionally based on the life of Wallace leading the Scots in the First War of Scottish Independence against King Edward I of England. The film also stars Sophie Marceau, Patrick McGoohan and Catherine McCormack. The story is inspired by Blind Harry 's epic poem The Actes and Deidis of the Illustre and Vallyeant Campioun Schir William Wallace and was adapted for the screen by Randall Wallace. Development on the film initially started at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer when producer Alan Ladd Jr. picked up the project from Wallace, but when MGM was going through new management, Ladd left the studio and took the project with him. Despite initially declining, Gibson eventually decided to direct the film, as well as star as Wallace. The film was filmed in Scotland and Ireland from June to October 1994 with a budget around 65–70 million. [4] Braveheart, which was produced by Gibson's Icon Productions and The Ladd Company, was distributed by Paramount Pictures in North America and by 20th Century Fox internationally. Released on May 24, 1995, Braveheart received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the performances, directing, production values, battle sequences, and musical score, but criticized its inaccuracies regarding Wallace's title, love interests, and attire. [5] The film grossed 75. 6 million in the US and grossed 210. 4 million worldwide. At the 68th Academy Awards, the film was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won five: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Makeup, and Best Sound Editing. A sequel, Robert the Bruce, was released in 2019, with Angus Macfadyen reprising his role. In 1298, leading the English army himself, Longshanks confronts the Scots at Falkirk. There, noblemen Mornay and Lochlan turn their backs on Wallace after being bribed by the king, resulting in the death of Hamish's father, Campbell. Wallace is then further betrayed when he discovers Robert the Bruce was fighting alongside Longshanks; after the battle, after seeing the damage he helped do to his countrymen, the Bruce reprimands his father and vows not to be on the wrong side again. Wallace kills Lochlan and Mornay for their betrayal, and wages a guerrilla war against the English for the next seven years, assisted by Isabella, with whom he eventually has an affair. In 1305, Robert sets up a meeting with Wallace in Edinburgh, but Robert's father has conspired with other nobles to capture and hand over Wallace to the English. With the Scots chanting Wallace's name, Robert then leads his army into battle against the stunned English, winning the Scots their freedom. The final shot of the film is the sun setting behind Braveheart as it sways in the wind. Cast [ edit] Production [ edit] This section needs expansion. You can help by adding to it. February 2020) Producer Alan Ladd Jr. initially had the project at MGM-Pathé Communications when he picked up the script from Wallace. [6] When MGM was going through new management in 1993, Ladd left the studio and took some of its top properties, including Braveheart. [7] Gibson came across the script and even though he liked it, he initially passed on it. However, the thought of it kept coming back to him and he ultimately decided to take on the project. [6] Gibson was initially interested in directing only and considered Brad Pitt in the role of William Wallace, but Gibson reluctantly agreed to play Wallace as well. [3] Gibson (right) on set with 20th Century Fox executive Scott Neeson Gibson and his production company, Icon Productions, had difficulty raising enough money for the film. Warner Bros. was willing to fund the project on the condition that Gibson sign for another Lethal Weapon sequel, which he refused. Gibson eventually gained enough financing for the film, with Paramount Pictures financing a third of the budget in exchange for North American distribution rights to the film, and 20th Century Fox putting up two thirds of the budget in exchange for international distribution rights. [8] 3] Principal photography on the film began on June 6, 1994. [9] While the crew spent three weeks shooting on location in Scotland, the major battle scenes were shot in Ireland using members of the Irish Army Reserve as extras. To lower costs, Gibson had the same extras, up to 1, 600 in some scenes, portray both armies. The reservists had been given permission to grow beards and swapped their military uniforms for medieval garb. [10] Principal photography ended on October 28, 1994. [11] The film was shot in the anamorphic format with Panavision C- and E-Series lenses. [12] Gibson had to tone down the film's battle scenes to avoid an NC-17 rating from the MPAA; the final version was rated R for "brutal medieval warfare. 13] Gibson and editor Steven Rosenblum initially had a film at 195 minutes, but Sheryl Lansing, who was the head of Paramount at the time, requested Gibson and Rosenblum to cut the film down to 177 minutes. [14] According to Gibson in a 2016 interview with Collider, there is a four-hour version of the film and would be interested in reassembling it if both Paramount and Fox are interested. [15] Soundtrack [ edit] The score was composed and conducted by James Horner and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. It is Horner's second of three collaborations with Mel Gibson as director. The score has gone on to be one of the most commercially successful soundtracks of all time. It received considerable acclaim from film critics and audiences and was nominated for a number of awards, including the Academy Award, Saturn Award, BAFTA Award, and Golden Globe Award. Release and reception [ edit] Box office [ edit] On its opening weekend, Braveheart grossed 9, 938, 276 in the United States and 75. 6 million in its box office run in the U. S. and Canada. [2] Worldwide, the film grossed 210, 409, 945 and was the thirteenth-highest-grossing film of 1995. [2] Critical response [ edit] Braveheart earned positive reviews; critics praised Gibson's direction and performance as Wallace, the performances of its cast, and its screenplay, production values, Horner's score, and the battle sequences. The depiction of the Battle of Stirling Bridge was listed by CNN as one of the best battles in cinema history. [16] However, it was also criticized for its depiction of history. The film holds a 77% approval rating at review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, with an average score of 7. 25/10, based on 75 reviews. The site's consensus states "Distractingly violent and historically dodgy, Mel Gibson's Braveheart justifies its epic length by delivering enough sweeping action, drama, and romance to match its ambition. 17] The film also has a score of 68 out of 100 on Metacritic based on 20 critic reviews indicating "generally favorable reviews. 18] Caryn James of The New York Times praised the film, calling it "one of the most spectacular entertainments in years. Roger Ebert gave the film 3. 5 stars out of four, calling it "An action epic with the spirit of the Hollywood swordplay classics and the grungy ferocity of The Road Warrior. In a positive review, Gene Siskel wrote that "in addition to staging battle scenes well, Gibson also manages to recreate the filth and mood of 700 years ago. 19] Peter Travers of Rolling Stone felt that "though the film dawdles a bit with the shimmery, dappled love stuff involving Wallace with a Scottish peasant and a French princess, the action will pin you to your seat. " Not all reviews were positive, however. Richard Schickel of TIME magazine argued that "everybody knows that a non-blubbering clause is standard in all movie stars' contracts. Too bad there isn't one banning self-indulgence when they direct. 20] Peter Stack of San Francisco Chronicle felt "at times the film seems an obsessive ode to Mel Gibson machismo. 21] In a 2005 poll by British film magazine Empire, Braveheart was No. 1 on their list of "The Top 10 Worst Pictures to Win Best Picture Oscar. 22] Empire readers had previously voted Braveheart the best film of 1995. [23] Effect on tourism [ edit] The European premiere was on September 3, 1995, in Stirling. [24] In 1996, the year after the film was released, the annual three-day "Braveheart Conference" at Stirling Castle attracted fans of Braveheart, increasing the conference's attendance to 167, 000 from 66, 000 in the previous year. [25] In the following year, research on visitors to the Stirling area indicated that 55% of the visitors had seen Braveheart. Of visitors from outside Scotland, 15% of those who saw Braveheart said it influenced their decision to visit the country. Of all visitors who saw Braveheart, 39% said the film influenced in part their decision to visit Stirling, and 19% said the film was one of the main reasons for their visit. [26] In the same year, a tourism report said that the " Braveheart effect" earned Scotland 7 million to 15 million in tourist revenue, and the report led to various national organizations encouraging international film productions to take place in Scotland. [27] The film generated huge interest in Scotland and in Scottish history, not only around the world, but also in Scotland itself. Fans came from all over the world to see the places in Scotland where William Wallace fought, also to the places in Scotland and Ireland used as locations in the film. citation needed] At a Braveheart Convention in 1997, held in Stirling the day after the Scottish Devolution vote and attended by 200 delegates from around the world, Braveheart author Randall Wallace, Seoras Wallace of the Wallace Clan, Scottish historian David Ross and Bláithín FitzGerald from Ireland gave lectures on various aspects of the film. citation needed] Several of the actors also attended including James Robinson (Young William) Andrew Weir (Young Hamish) Julie Austin (the young bride) and Mhairi Calvey (Young Murron. citation needed] Awards and honors [ edit] Braveheart was nominated for many awards during the 1995 Oscar season, though it was not viewed by many as a major contender such as Apollo 13, Il Postino: The Postman, Leaving Las Vegas, Sense and Sensibility, and The Usual Suspects. It wasn't until after the film won the Golden Globe Award for Best Director at the 53rd Golden Globe Awards that it was viewed as a serious Oscar contender. When the nominations were announced for the 68th Academy Awards, Braveheart received ten Academy Award nominations, and a month later, won five including Best Picture, Best Director for Gibson, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Effects Editing, and Best Makeup. [28] Braveheart became the ninth film to win Best Picture with no acting nominations and is one of only three films to win Best Picture without being nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, the other being The Shape of Water in 2017 and followed by Green Book the following year. [40] Wallace Monument [ edit] In 1997, a 12-foot (3. 7 m) 13-tonne (13-long-ton; 14-short-ton) sandstone statue depicting Mel Gibson as William Wallace in Braveheart was placed in the car park of the Wallace Monument near Stirling, Scotland. The statue, which was the work of Tom Church, a monumental mason from Brechin, 41] included the word 'Braveheart' on Wallace's shield. The installation became the cause of much controversy; one local resident stated that it was wrong to "desecrate the main memorial to Wallace with a lump of crap. 42] In 1998, someone wielding a hammer vandalized the statue's face. After repairs were made, the statue was encased in a cage every night to prevent further vandalism. This only incited more calls for the statue to be removed, as it then appeared that the Gibson/Wallace figure was imprisoned. The statue was described as "among the most loathed pieces of public art in Scotland. 43] In 2008, the statue was returned to its sculptor to make room for a new visitor centre being built at the foot of the Wallace Monument. [44] Historical inaccuracy [ edit] Randall Wallace, who wrote the screenplay, has acknowledged Blind Harry 's 15th-century epic poem The Acts and Deeds of Sir William Wallace, Knight of Elderslie as a major inspiration for the film. [45] In defending his script, Randall Wallace has said, Is Blind Harry true? I don't know. I know that it spoke to my heart and that's what matters to me, that it spoke to my heart. 45] Blind Harry's poem is not regarded as historically accurate, and although some incidents in the film that are not historically accurate are taken from Blind Harry (e. g. the hanging of Scottish nobles at the start. 46] there are large parts that are based neither on history nor Blind Harry (e. Wallace's affair with Princess Isabella. 5] Elizabeth Ewan describes Braveheart as a film that "almost totally sacrifices historical accuracy for epic adventure. 47] The "brave heart" refers in Scottish history to that of Robert the Bruce, and an attribution by William Edmondstoune Aytoun, in his poem Heart of Bruce, to Sir James the Good Douglas: Pass thee first, thou dauntless heart, As thou wert wont of yore. prior to Douglas' demise at the Battle of Teba in Andalusia. [48] It has been described as one of the most historically inaccurate modern films. [5] Sharon Krossa noted that the film contains numerous historical errors, beginning with the wearing of belted plaid by Wallace and his men. In that period "no Scots. wore belted plaids (let alone kilts of any kind. Moreover, when Highlanders finally did begin wearing the belted plaid, it was not "in the rather bizarre style depicted in the film. She compares the inaccuracy to "a film about Colonial America showing the colonial men wearing 20th century business suits, but with the jackets worn back-to-front instead of the right way around. 49] In a previous essay about the film, she wrote, The events aren't accurate, the dates aren't accurate, the characters aren't accurate, the names aren't accurate, the clothes aren't accurate—in short, just about nothing is accurate. 50] The belted plaid ( feileadh mór léine) was not introduced until the 16th century. [51] Peter Traquair has referred to Wallace's "farcical representation as a wild and hairy highlander painted with woad (1, 000 years too late) running amok in a tartan kilt (500 years too early. 52] In fact, Wallace was a lowlander; thus, the mountains and glens of his home as depicted in the film are also inaccurate. Irish historian Seán Duffy remarked "the battle of Stirling Bridge could have done with a bridge. 53] In 2009, the film was second on a list of "most historically inaccurate movies" in The Times. [5] In the humorous non-fictional historiography An Utterly Impartial History of Britain (2007) author John O'Farrell claims that Braveheart could not have been more historically inaccurate, even if a Plasticine dog had been inserted in the film and the title changed to " William Wallace and Gromit. 54] In the DVD audio commentary of Braveheart, Mel Gibson acknowledges many of the historical inaccuracies but defends his choices as director, noting that the way events were portrayed in the film was much more "cinematically compelling" than the historical fact or conventional mythos. [5] Jus primae noctis [ edit] Edward Longshanks, King of England, is shown invoking Jus primae noctis, allowing the lord of a medieval estate to take the virginity of his serfs' maiden daughters on their wedding nights. Critical medieval scholarship regards this supposed right as a myth: the simple reason why we are dealing with a myth here rests in the surprising fact that practically all writers who make any such claims have never been able or willing to cite any trustworthy source, if they have any. 55] 56] Occupation and independence [ edit] The film suggests Scotland had been under English occupation for some time, at least during Wallace's childhood, and in the run-up to the Battle of Falkirk Wallace says to the younger Bruce. W]e'll have what none of us have ever had before, a country of our own. In fact, Scotland had been invaded by England only the year before Wallace's rebellion; prior to the death of King Alexander III it had been a fully separate kingdom. [57] At one point, Wallace's uncle refers to a piper as “playing outlawed tunes on outlawed pipes. Not only were bagpipes not outlawed at the time, they likely had not yet been introduced to Scotland. Further, the widely-held belief that bagpipes were banned by the Act of Proscription 1746 (400 years later) is erroneous. Bagpipes were never specifically outlawed in Scotland. Portrayal of William Wallace [ edit] As John Shelton Lawrence and Robert Jewett writes, Because [William] Wallace is one of Scotland's most important national heroes and because he lived in the very distant past, much that is believed about him is probably the stuff of legend. But there is a factual strand that historians agree to" summarized from Scots scholar Matt Ewart: Wallace was born into the gentry of Scotland; his father lived until he was 18, his mother until his 24th year; he killed the sheriff of Lanark when he was 27, apparently after the murder of his wife; he led a group of commoners against the English in a very successful battle at Stirling in 1297, temporarily receiving appointment as guardian; Wallace's reputation as a military leader was ruined in the same year of 1297, leading to his resignation as guardian; he spent several years of exile in France before being captured by the English at Glasgow, this resulting in his trial for treason and his cruel execution. [58] A. E. Christa Canitz writes about the historical William Wallace further. He] was a younger son of the Scottish gentry, usually accompanied by his own chaplain, well-educated, and eventually, having been appointed Guardian of the Kingdom of Scotland, engaged in diplomatic correspondence with the Hanseatic cities of Lübeck and Hamburg. She finds that in Braveheart, any hint of his descent from the lowland gentry (i. e., the lesser nobility) is erased, and he is presented as an economically and politically marginalized Highlander and 'a farmer'—as one with the common peasant, and with a strong spiritual connection to the land which he is destined to liberate. 59] Colin McArthur writes that Braveheart "constructs Wallace as a kind of modern, nationalist guerrilla leader in a period half a millennium before the appearance of nationalism on the historical stage as a concept under which disparate classes and interests might be mobilised within a nation state. Writing about Braveheart ' s "omissions of verified historical facts" McArthur notes that Wallace made "overtures to Edward I seeking less severe treatment after his defeat at Falkirk" as well as "the well-documented fact of Wallace's having resorted to conscription and his willingness to hang those who refused to serve. 60] Canitz posits that depicting "such lack of class solidarity" as the conscriptions and related hangings "would contaminate the movie's image of Wallace as the morally irreproachable primus inter pares among his peasant fighters. 59] Portrayal of Isabella of France [ edit] Isabella of France is shown having an affair with Wallace after the Battle of Falkirk. She later tells Edward I she is pregnant, implying that her son, Edward III, was a product of the affair. In reality, Isabella was around three years old and living in France at the time of the Battle of Falkirk, was not married to Edward II until he was already king, and Edward III was born seven years after Wallace died. [61] 5] Portrayal of Robert the Bruce [ edit] Robert the Bruce did change sides between the Scots loyalists and the English more than once in the earlier stages of the Wars of Scottish Independence, but he never betrayed Wallace directly, and he probably did not fight on the English side at the Battle of Falkirk (although this claim does appear in a few medieval sources. 62] Later, the Battle of Bannockburn was not a spontaneous battle; he had already been fighting a guerrilla campaign against the English for eight years. [63] His title before becoming king was Earl of Carrick, not Earl of Bruce. [64] Portrayal of Longshanks and Prince Edward [ edit] The actual Edward I was ruthless and temperamental, but the film exaggerates his negative aspects for effect. Edward enjoyed poetry and harp music, was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Eleanor of Castile, and as a religious man, he gave generously to charity. The film's scene where he scoffs cynically at Isabella for distributing gold to the poor after Wallace refuses it as a bribe would have been unlikely. Also, Edward died on campaign two years after Wallace's execution, not in bed at his home. [65] The depiction of the future Edward II as an effeminate homosexual drew accusations of homophobia against Gibson. We cut a scene out, unfortunately. where you really got to know that character [Edward II] and to understand his plight and his pain. But it just stopped the film in the first act so much that you thought, When's this story going to start. 66. better source needed] Gibson defended his depiction of Prince Edward as weak and ineffectual, saying: I'm just trying to respond to history. You can cite other examples— Alexander the Great, for example, who conquered the entire world, was also a homosexual. But this story isn't about Alexander the Great. It's about Edward II. [67] In response to Longshanks' murder of the Prince's male lover Phillip, Gibson replied: The fact that King Edward throws this character out a window has nothing to do with him being gay. He's terrible to his son, to everybody. 68] Gibson asserted that the reason Longshanks kills his son's lover is because the king is a " psychopath. 69] Gibson expressed bewilderment that some filmgoers would laugh at this murder. The real Gaveston was never murdered by Edward I. Edward I died in 1307, with Gaveston living past his death, until 1312. [70] Wallace's military campaign [ edit] MacGregors from the next glen" joining Wallace shortly after the action at Lanark is dubious, since it is questionable whether Clan Gregor existed at that stage, and when they did emerge their traditional home was Glen Orchy, some distance from Lanark. [71] Wallace did win an important victory at the Battle of Stirling Bridge, but the version in Braveheart is highly inaccurate, as it was filmed without a bridge (and without Andrew Moray, joint commander of the Scots army, who was fatally injured in the battle. Later, Wallace did carry out a large-scale raid into the north of England, but he did not get as far south as York, nor did he kill Longshanks' nephew [72] however, this was not as wide of the mark as Blind Harry, who has Wallace making it as far south as St. Albans, and only refraining from attacking London after the English queen came out to meet him. 46] Edward's nephew John of Brittany did take part in the Wars of Scottish Independence, but he was not killed, dying of natural causes. [73] The "Irish conscripts" at the Battle of Falkirk are also unhistorical; there were no Irish troops at Falkirk (although many of the English army were actually Welsh) 74] and it is anachronistic to refer to conscripts in the Middle Ages (although there were feudal levies. The two-handed long swords used by Gibson in the film were not in wide use in the period. A one-handed sword and shield would have been more accurate. [75] Accusations of Anglophobia [ edit] Sections of the English media accused the film of harboring Anglophobia. The Economist called it " xenophobic. 76] and John Sutherland writing in The Guardian stated that. Braveheart gave full rein to a toxic Anglophobia. 77] 78] 79] In The Times, Colin McArthur said "the political effects are truly pernicious. It's a xenophobic film. 78] Ian Burrell of The Independent has noted, The Braveheart phenomenon, a Hollywood-inspired rise in Scottish nationalism, has been linked to a rise in anti-English prejudice. 80] Home media [ edit] Braveheart was released on DVD on August 29, 2000. [81] It was released on Blu-ray as part of the Paramount Sapphire Series on September 1, 2009. [82] It was released on 4K UHD Blu-ray as part of the 4K upgrade of the Paramount Sapphire Series on May 15, 2018. [82] Sequel [ edit] On February 9, 2018, a sequel titled Robert the Bruce was announced. The film will lead directly on from Braveheart and follow the widow Moira, portrayed by Anna Hutchison, and her family (portrayed by Gabriel Bateman and Talitha Bateman) who save Robert the Bruce, with Angus Macfadyen reprising his role from Braveheart. The cast will also include Jared Harris, Patrick Fugit, Zach McGowan, Emma Kenney, Diarmaid Murtagh, Seoras Wallace, Shane Coffey, Kevin McNally, and Melora Walters. Richard Gray will direct the film, with Macfadyen and Eric Belgau writing the script. Helmer Gray, Macfadyen, Hutchison, Kim Barnard, Nick Farnell, Cameron Nuggent, and Andrew Curry will produce the film. Tearsss just teaaarss! Thank you for your service W. Churchill. They may take out lives, but they'll never take, OUR FREEDOM! Dont let go Jack. This dude played three instruments in the same song. I can barely play one. Damn. Being 25 years old and discovering such a master piece in 2019 on youtube is a blessing. ÐÑ€ÐÐро срn d e. This is amazing. After watching this film for the millionth time about 10 minutes ago I have to say this is easily one of the best films I've seen. We can go on all day about the best films ever made, but it's rare to find a film like Braveheart today.
This film is not the most factual piece in existence, I would consider it fiction based on fact. William Wallace existed as did Longshanks, and England did invade Scotland, however some characters are obviously fiction, a lot of what happens is fiction and I would like to think of it as fiction for film. Being honest this film was made primarily for film-making and money, not historical accuracy, and there is nothing wrong with that due to the film being excellent in my own opinion. The battle scenes are well done with little flaws (continuity errors happen in every film, not just braveheart) it's stuck to the "rules" of film making for the most part and the camera work and angles come across sometimes as stunning, along with the scenery, great acting, scripting, and emotion put into the music and story itself it's a recipe for a great film.
I would definitely recommend seeing this film to anyone that hasn't, if you haven't, why not? This is easily one of the best war/sword films that has been made and is definitely work a watch, however it is quite long, and at some parts slow. It personally took me a few watches to realise how Wallace thinks, and how he has known certain information he shouldn't know, but I won't spoil it for you and urge you to watch the film to understand.
Enjoy.

If Mel Gibson hasn't directed this we should all be worried. I can tell that that's not Winston Churchill because I can understand what he's saying. Hadi Türkleri Görelim. Mel Gibson. Film by Gibson [1995] Braveheart, historical epic film, released in 1995, that was directed by and starred Mel Gibson and was loosely based on the story of 13th-century Scottish leader William Wallace. The movie was a surprise winner of the Academy Award for best picture. Mel Gibson in Braveheart (1995. 1995 Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation; After William Wallaces father and brother are killed in battle against the English, Wallace is sent to continental Europe to be educated. He returns to Scotland as an adult (played by Gibson) and marries his childhood sweetheart, Murron (Catherine McCormack. When English soldiers try to rape Murron, Wallace saves her but the soldiers make a second attempt and she is captured and executed. Wallace then leads his clan in slaughtering the English garrison, and he continues to fight to expel the English from Scotland, gaining increasing numbers of followers as stories of his exploits spread. He leads his outnumbered ranks to victory in the Battle of Stirling Bridge, and then he invades England and sacks the town of York. English King Edward Longshanks ( Patrick McGoohan) sends Princess Isabelle (Sophie Marceau) his sons wife, to negotiate peace with Wallace, but she is charmed by him and becomes his ally. She warns Wallace of an impending English invasion. Wallace seeks the support of the Scottish nobility in the fight against the English, but the nobles are reluctant. Robert the Bruce (Angus Macfadyen) is particularly torn. The Scottish fighters are crushed by an army led by King Edward in the Battle of Falkirk after members of the Scottish nobility betray Wallace. Wallace tries to kill Edward himself but is intercepted by a lancer, who proves to be Robert the Bruce. Robert then saves Wallace from being captured by the English. Wallace spends the next several years engaged in guerrilla warfare against the English. He later agrees to meet with Robert in Edinburgh, but Robert the Elder ( Ian Bannen) and other nobles set a trap and capture Wallace. During his long and agonizing execution, Wallace refuses to submit to gain mercy and instead defiantly cries out, “Freedom! ” In an epilogue, Robert the Bruce leads the Scottish to victory over the English in the Battle of Bannockburn. The movie, inspired by a nearly 12, 000-line epic poem about Wallace by Harry the Minstrel and filmed largely in Ireland, triggered an upsurge of interest in Scottish history, although it contained numerous historical inaccuracies and anachronisms. Critics especially praised the massively scaled and extravagantly violent battle scenes.
